Website Updates
  • January AND February Updates

It's been busy these past 2 months. Mantic had a baby in January and that slowed things down a bit. Equipment editing is almost in a pre-alpha state and should be available soon. We've added some quality of life improvements to monsters, and wrote a new VTT icon editor that will be used as a stand-alone editor and for uploading icons for monsters, equipment, and other items.

  • A Blueprint for a better look

DCCrit is officially embracing a new look with a fresh blue theme! While purple has been a fantastic representation of DC20, we want to ensure that purple remains uniquely tied to the DC20 system itself, allowing it to speak solely for the game. In addition to the visual changes, we've been tackling some quality-of-life improvements. These include refining how resistances, vulnerabilities, and condition values (immune, half, double, etc.) are displayed, as well as addressing some pesky authentication bugs that were causing UI glitches. And that's not all—we've started laying the groundwork for custom spells, opening up even more possibilities for creators! Stay tuned for more updates!

  • Mobile support, multi-column editing, and Descriptions

Mobile support has been started! All monsters are now viewable on mobile/tablet sized screens! The front page and monster list are semi-mobile friendly; more work will be done there soon. Also, multi-column editing has been fixed from the flaws shown during S&S's livestream. :D Descriptions with custom mark-down are now available to edit and display for all monsters.

  • Image Snapshots and Discord Embedding

Fixed image snapshot (webp, png, jpg) generation! Now images are crisp and properly sized. They also bust cache when regenerated. Likewise, pasting a monster link in Discord now renders the monster while preserving the url.

  • Patreon and Roles overhaul

Launching DCCrit's Patreon site pushed development to implement user role syncing with discord and other security features. We also implemented most of the stand-in page(s) for those who aren't a Founder. We also got two-column support in for large monsters!

  • EMBED and SNAPSHOTS

Got the first round of ?embed=true and ?snapshot=true commands to work. Now you can embed in Notion and similar apps.

  • Some minor tweaks.

Testing some embed functionality and save buttons.

  • Monster Creation, Buckets, and Saving: Oh my!

Monster creation has been started! Data buckets were created for monster images to be uploaded to and some backend database functions/tables were updated to better show monsters in a list. The settings panel was born and is developing nicely.

  • Even More Monster Editing

Working on the monster edit UI look-and-feel (colors, padding, etc). Made text areas auto-size while typing and on load. You can now add conditions and condition-actions to monster actions. Known bugs: 1) Focus issues when editing a monster while clicking around different actions, dialogs, etc. 2) Empty conditions / condition items won't auto delete when deselected.

  • More Monster Editing

Started editing UI on action conditions and action-condition-sub-actions (what a mouthful). Fixed silly footer issue.

  • Monster Editing

Added some basic action item add/edit/delete functionality. It still doesn't save, but at least you can play around with it.

  • Monster Editor Test

Started work on the monster editing UI. Nothing saves yet, but you can play around with the first few stats.

  • Character Teaser and Monster Updates

Added rough outline of the community character page. Added monster size, resistances, and vulnerabilities to the statblock. Added monster sizes and 'rank' (minion, boss, mid-tier, etc). Monster search doesn't work yet, BUT THE LIST IS BEING PULLED FROM THE DB! And search sort of works.

  • build date and main page

Added an auto-generated build date at the footer and updated the main page with a todo-list and update list! Also added github and coolify events into discord.

  • database monsters and images

The Fire Snake is now officially the first monster in the database! Also the website name changed to 'DC Crit'.

  • created the update list

Created the update list with database work in the background. Profiles and monsters, here we come!

  • Auto Deploy

Setup auto-deploy to launch new versions of the website when the main branch is updated.

  • Discord Sign-in

Implemented the ability to use Discord to sign in. Oooh yeah.

  • first commit!

First commit of the website... it really didn't contain much... except the monster CSS!
